Rebaudioside A is one of the sweet compounds found in stevia. Purifying this individual glycoside provides a more specific ingredient than a mixed total-steviol-glycoside extract.
Reb A is a specific stevia-derived constituent with its own sweetness profile. It can be combined with other sweeteners when developers want to shape the timing, intensity and finish of the taste. As an intense sweetener, it contributes very little of the physical bulk supplied by ordinary sugar.
