Morels are recognised by their distinctive honeycomb-like caps. Best known as culinary mushrooms, their fruiting bodies are also used to make dried extracts with defined polysaccharide or extraction-ratio specifications.
Morel extract is made from Morchella esculenta fruiting bodies. The distinctive pitted cap gives morel an identity that is readily recognised by mushroom enthusiasts.
