Boswellia serrata produces an aromatic oleo-gum-resin known as Indian frankincense. The resin has a long association with Ayurvedic preparations and provides boswellic-acid constituents for extraction.
Boswellia serrata extract is made from oleo-gum-resin. The harvested material is a resinous exudate, giving boswellia a different starting form from roots, leaves or berries. Boswellic acids are associated with this resin fraction.
