Ingredient Overview
Bamboo fungus is recognised by the delicate, net-like veil hanging beneath its cap. Also known as bamboo pith fungus, it has a history as an ingredient in Asian cuisine.
Bamboo fungus extract is made from Phallus indusiatus fruiting bodies. The fruiting body supplies the material for extraction, with fungal polysaccharides forming the main focus of the concentrated grades. It can be used to broaden the species profile of a dry mushroom formulation.
