Ingredient Overview
Artist’s conk is a woody bracket fungus known botanically as Ganoderma applanatum. Its pale underside darkens when scratched, making it possible to draw on the surface and giving the fungus its memorable common name.
The firm fruiting body is used as extraction material. Its fungal polysaccharides include beta-glucans, which provide a focus for concentrated ingredients made from this species. The extract presents those constituents in a dry form for mushroom-based preparations.
